Pension Overpayments Announcement Made - 2nd April 2009 [Further Details] On 2nd April 2009 the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth, John Swinney MSP, announced that the UK National Insurance Contributions Office had informed the Agency that a further tranche of pension overpayments had been identified. Detailed checks by SPPA confirms a total of 421 STSS and 287 NHS additional cases.
All affected NHS and Teacher scheme members were notified by post on 2 April. [Further Details]
Annual Pensions Increase - The increase to be applied to Public Service pensions has now been set. [link]

About Us
The Scottish Public Pensions Agency is an executive Agency of the Scottish Government. It was previously known as the Scottish Office Pensions Agency which was created on 1st April 1993 and employs around 200 staff.
The Agency administers and regulates the NHS and teachers' pension schemes in Scotland, and other occupational pension schemes for which the Scottish Ministers are responsible. It also regulates the local government, police and fire pension schemes administered by Scottish local authorities.
The overall framework within which it operates is set out in its Framework Document.
How to find Us
SPPA is located at Tweedbank, near Galashiels. We are about 35 miles South of Edinburgh and can be accessed via the A7 or A68. The main building is located next to the Tweedbank Industrial Estate and there is ample car parking for official visitors. link to location map
