Consultation on draft regulations covering miscellaneous changes to the Scottish Teachers' Superannuation Scheme

Consultation period: Friday, 22nd March 2013 to Friday, 7th June 2013

These draft regulations provide for:

Workplace Pension Reform (Automatic Enrolment)Additional Paternity LeaveChange to the rate of interest charged on the late payment of contributionsRemoval of restriction on paying lump sums to members age 75Short-service serious ill health grantRe-employed teachers and short service annuitiesRemoval of provisions governing scheme valuationsAnnual Allowance Charge Teachers' AVC funds – indexing options and transfers

The consultation will close on Friday, 7th June at 6 pm and we ask that anyone wishing to respond does so by then.

Consultation on draft regulations for proposed employee contribution increases to the Scottish Teachers' Superannuation Scheme in Scotland

Consultation period: 20th December 2012 to 1st February 2013

[This consultation period has now concluded.]

In a statement to Parliament on 28th November 2012, the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth, John Swinney, announced the Scottish Government's decision to implement the second annual increment of UK Government proposed employee contribution increases for the Teachers', NHS, Police and Firefighters' schemes in Scotland. 

Attached is a copy of the consultation and draft regulations for proposed increases to employee contribution rates effective from 1st April 2013 for the Teachers' Pension Scheme in Scotland.
